IAMCP Communicator
                                                            September 2017 Edition

Welcome from Randy Steinle (President, IAMCP US)

Dear IAMCP Colleagues,

The first words that come to mind as I welcome everyone to the September edition of the newsletter are resiliency and strength. The ability to adjust to setbacks and challenges as quickly as we would respond to opportunities is what sets all of us up for success.

During my 14 years with IAMCP, I have always been amazed at the work we do and what can be accomplished by focusing on what truly matters. I have witnessed this yet again in the care, response, and personal sacrifice put forward by partners through IAMCP Helps, an initiative to address the needs of those impacted by recent natural disasters in the US. The generosity and concern displayed by our community to step up and help fellow partners and customers humbles me and I am deeply proud of this organization.

At times like this, I see clearly that the strength of IAMCP is people pulling together. I have personally made a commitment to building relationships with other IAMCP partners. In the process, I have discovered an important fact—investing in the success of others is the best way to build my own success. I have experienced supposed competitors becoming trusted collaborators and all of us growing our business as a result. I have gained lifelong friends and have had the satisfaction of making a difference on a common cause by working alongside others who share the same passion. Taken together, I can easily say that the effort put into relationship building has been one of my best investments.

As you head into FY18, I encourage you to invest in each other’s success. It is what will make us strong and resilient as an international organization, as businesses, and as individuals.

Warmest Regards,

Randy Steinle

President, IAMCP US Board of Directors, and Advocacy Chair - IAMCP Austin Chapter

A 'Thank You' from our Inspire Chair

As you all know, Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference underwent a name change this year. I truly believe the efforts IAMCP delivered for the conference did justice to its new name, “Inspire”. Here are some examples:

  • A 23% increase in new member signup

  • Over 700 new leads from around the world

  • Commitments to start at least five new chapters and many new WIT communities throughout the world

  • Over $100K raised in sponsorship

  • A STEM scholarship program for US members with amazing ambassador Rudy Rodriguez and a commitment to drive the program to support the international market

  • A speakeasy party that was the buzz of the conference and featured in the “Day 1 Recap” video

  • Executive roundtables, international and regional meetings, and board meetings

  • Booth Takeovers

  • Awesome P2P Award Winners and the 2017 Prometheus Award Winners

And of course, I can’t forget to add one more important item to the list above. Through it all, IAMCP’s efforts at Inspire saw the forging of new partnerships and friendships.

I want to thank everyone involved in the organization and this community for the support and passion you exhibited around Inspire. You made it a pleasure!

- Deb Pfundstein (IAMCP 2017 Inspire Chair)

Advances in STEM with Scholarship

At Inspire, IAMCP was thrilled to announce the “IAMCP Rudy Rodriquez STEM Scholarship”. The scholarship awards $2,500 to IAMCP-US members and their families in support of STEM-related, post-secondary school expenses.

The scholarship was named to honor IAMCP-US President Emeritus Rudy Rodriguez. In the words of Randy Steinle, President IAMCP US Board of Directors, "Rudy has always been involved in education and is very passionate about people having access. It was a natural thing to marry this initiative that we're all pretty passionate about with honoring a person we're all pretty passionate about, and doing some good for the community."

The scholarships will be awarded and objectively managed by Scholarship America. For more information, check out this Redmond Channel Partner article and visit the IAMCP scholarship website.

Partnership in Action

The IAMCP Seattle chapter has taken building P2P relationships to a new level. Ted Green of Green IT Consulting noticed a great opportunity to drive a more connected experience between IAMCP members, moving well beyond interacting primarily at monthly meetings. “I realized that we could have a much bigger impact if we were to connect on deals and opportunities more often,” said Ted. Specifically, Ted outlined the following goals:

  • Make sure partners are better prepped to work together
  • Enable partners to go to market as a consortium to capture big opportunities as a Microsoft community
  • Bring in more members and then deliver more value

Empowering Members in Mexico!
IAMCP Mexico - Empowering Members

IAMCP Mexico has introduced its Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 period and is putting a plan in place to focus on empowering members to conduct business.

IAMCP Mexico intends to increase the number of Microsoft business partners from 130 to more than 200 and to consolidate the relationship between IAMCP and Microsoft. The chapter’s plans are strengthened through an alliance with AMITI, PROMexico, Gartner, and over 20 courses aimed at empowering partners to improve their businesses, focus on the empowerment of businesswomen, as well as promote a national business forum.

"IAMCP Mexico provides a unique experience for Microsoft business partners where liaisons, friendships, and an open, transparent, and direct dialog are the main aspects leading to success," explained Ricardo Escorihuela, President of IAMCP Mexico. Check here for more information on their plans.
