Dear IAMCP Member,

Microsoft and the IAMCP have the pleasure of inviting you and IAMCP colleagues from your region to the second IAMCP European Leadership Summit in Brussels on 14-16 June 2011.

This major event will bring together up to 200 of your IAMCP colleagues from all across Europe and beyond to network, create business links and influence the development of vital European policies that affect your business. Last year’s Summit was the largest gathering of European IAMCP partners and allowed partners to network and built links as well as engaging with their local Members of the European Parliament and other influential policy-makers.

The event will be held at "The Hotel Brussels” (Formerly Brussels Hilton) located on Boulevard de Waterloo 38, 1000 Brussels from Tuesday evening 14 June 2011 until Thursday afternoon 16 June 2011.

Microsoft will pay 50% of the room charge and breakfast. The remaining part for you to pay is only €89.50 per night (plus any other room charges you may incur).

This session will explore how engaging with policymakers can increase your influence and how this can help in making strategic decisions for your firm.


Creating a local cloud business strategy - Anand Krishman, Director of Cloud Strategy, Microsoft

Microsoft's Director of Cloud Strategy will draw upon his extensive experience of sales, product management, and working with Western European subsidiaries to explore how you can take advantage of local market strategies and build high-growth Cloud businesses in your country.


SME Union panel session with members of the European Parliament (MEPs)

Moderator: Peter Jungen, President, SME Union and Venture Capitalist with 5 Senior Members of the European Parliament

Leading MEPs will discuss how the European Parliament can help support SMEs in developing a strong EU software and services market to help them become more competitive and increase their business potential.


Lunch with Malcolm Harbour MEP

Malcolm Harbour is a leading British MEP and Chair of the IMCO Committee (Internal Market and Consumer Protection). He is one of the most influential MEPs in the Parliament and is known for his keen interest in ICT and Telecom issues, as well as for his pro-software patent positions.

In both 2006 and 2007, he was named the UK's 'most small business friendly MP' by members of the Forum of Private Business. Mr. Harbour will speak on how ICTs can help achieve the Europe 2020 goals, and the role played by the European Parliament in facilitating this.

Keynote address-Cloud and the Channel: Justin Pirie, Director of Content and Communities, Mimecast

Some people have said that the Cloud represents a "Perfect Storm" for the Channel. What is making that storm happen and where is the space for the Channel? To get to grips these changes we need to understand what are the drivers behind the technological and business model changes that are affecting the industry today. How do they influence what the Channel has been doing and what does it need to do to change? Justin will share insight and experience from over 7 years in the channel before spending the last 5 years at Cloud vendors. This will help you understand where the industry is going and why, as well as the actionable things the channel can do to retain it's place in the ecosystem.


Marketing training: Using the power of print and social media relations to boost your brand and revenue goals

Communications experts from both Microsoft and agencies will demystify the world of journalism and blogging to provide advice on how SMEs can generate relevant press coverage and reach the right audiences through social networking. This session will help you devise your own comprehensive media relations plan to complement your marketing strategy and raise your brand value.
